About the Author

The Heart & Pen Behind Owen

“I write books as the visions appear in my heart and soul.”

Eileen Lubore discovered her love for storytelling as a young teenager, when journaling became a liberating form of communication and self-discovery. She writes for children and adults alike, with themes ranging from the mythical to the suspenseful to real-life experiences.

Born in Oak Lawn, Illinois in 1966 and raised in Maryland, Eileen earned her master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She is also the author of two other children's books, The Legend of The Freckled Finn and Sugar's Travels: The Festival of Lights.

Today Eileen lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband Scott, their youngest daughter Fionnuala and her lovely boyfriend Diego, and their beloved furry family — Anna Maria, Elsie, and Denali. When she isn't writing, she loves taking the road less traveled to discover hidden gems, long walks on the beach collecting seashells, reading novels, live music, and dancing the night away.
